Position: Senior Manager - Greater China Marketing

Job overview and responsibilities

This role focuses on developing and managing a Marketing strategy to achieve United's business objectives for an assigned geography. The Sr. Marketing Manager will achieve objectives by creating and managing an annual marketing plan with allocated budget, within the framework provided by senior leadership to support the country sales team's goals and objectives for China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea. Success will require that the employee embraces a culture of continuous marketing effectiveness, proactive approach with an expert knowledge of United value propositions and product and services in order to support the sales efforts within his/her territory.

  • Lead a professional team in planning and execution of marketing plan and work with country sales directors and managers to achieve market share and revenue objectives in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan
  • Manage the Marketing budget throughout the year, implementing changes as required by the changing business environment and sales needs
  •  Managing local communications and Sales collateral (branding) to business partners and industry associations
  • Also responsible for coordinating the day to day internal marketing communication with the region's Sales team
  •  Leverage direct Marketing activities including e-commerce, loyalty program communication and sponsorships to improve awareness on United’s key messages
  • Interpret analytics on sales and traffic for united.com and develop digital strategies to increase sales via united.com and penetration
  • Work closely with Headquarters’ Marketing team and marketing agencies on content and assets on social platform and direct channels to drive engagement and meet business needs
  • Monitor social platform development and digital trends for potential sales opportunities
  • Support execution of the China media plan to ensure objectives and strategies are aligned    
  • Provide local oversights to improve service offerings for local markets

Qualifications required

  • Deep understanding of consumer behavior in China
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in Simplified Chinese and/or Traditional Chinese
  • Ability to create a marketing plan and manage budget and reporting
  • Experience in digital marketing
  • Attention to detail
  • Agile and logical approach by identifying business needs and proactively translate it into marketing action plan
  • Good negotiations skills
  • Ability to think creatively and conceptually and plan strategically
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years marketing management experience
  • Ability to Travel, as needed 
  • Must be fluent in English and Chinese(written and spoken)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Hong Kong for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and Cantonese
  • 5 years marketing management experience
